Shiblinga worth crores of taka stolen at Thanaghat Shiva temple in Mymensingh city,
The stolen statue was recovered from Tangail within 6 hours by the police.
The Shivlinga worth almost crore rupees protected in a hundred years traditional Shiva temple located in Thanaghat area of Mymensingh city was stolen by anonymous thief between 2 pm to 4 pm on last November 17.
Kotwali Model Police Station were able to rescue the stolen Shiblinga from Tangail along with thieves in the early night of 6 hours of theft on November 18.
In this incident, Kotwali Model Police arranged a press briefing at 11 o’clock in the police station campus. The officer in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station informed the journalists at the press briefing held, Shiblinga theft incident was informed by Kotwali Model Police Station Police Super immediately informed.
Under the direction of police super, case no. 43 was filed on the day of the incident at Kotwali police station. The priest of Thanaghat Shiva temple, Dulal Bhattacharya is the case.

The Prashant Karmakar (33) involved in the theft was arrested within 6 hours of the incident and from his custody The stolen statue is recovered.
Police say Prashant admitted to theft of the statue and gave confessionally arrested to police. Kotwali Police Station Officer In-charge Md.
